I want this Pig!

February 28, 2010

Who can get a Squishy Pig on Wings for me?

Obviously, I didn’t win. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be too cheap to pay $2.99 for it on officeplayground.com (rather, I am too cheap for the shipping which is like ten times the price!)

Hope

February 26, 2010

If I win the Toto tonight:

And this will be for the boyfriend:

Of course, we can finally go house(s) shopping!

Right now, Pig is hopeful. 🙂

Mad About You

February 25, 2010

My heart skipped a little beat when I saw this:

This I just have to get, right?

So this is how it feels when patience pays off.

Right now, Pig is in disbelief.

Congratulations!

February 25, 2010

Congratulations to the Sister for getting in The First Draft screenwriting programme!

I truly admire her for pursuing her dreams – dance, writing, photography, film (well, isn’t she the “arty farty”) – while I’m the Corporate Drone devoid of soul.

No kidding, I can feel the bits of Me chipping away.

I’m thankful that at least I’ve got the new hobby. Passionless-ness can be so exhausting.

Soft and fluffy

February 24, 2010

Wow,  this is utterly random. But as I sit here scouring my face with probably the stiffest towel of all time, I can’t help but relate this.

When I was little, soft, fluffy towels were a fantasy. You know, the sort that you read about in storybooks.

Instead, my memory of the towels that wiped me down were rough, aggravating affairs.

I used to love the bed and bath sections of departmental stores. Carried away by the aisles of soft and fluffy, I thought buying new / better quality / with cute embroidery towels were the solution, only to have the illusion shattered by the first wash. Even though I know better, I still get such delusions sometimes.

It was only in university living with my roommate – and doing our own laundry – that I even heard of something called fabric softener.

And my sister relates the same story.

Just goes to show how much habits and norms are shaped by what you know from your parents.

For now, soft and fluffy is still a distant fantasy – at least until I get a place of my own – but I’m just glad someone is still doing my laundry.

Told you it was utterly random.

How apt for the season

February 22, 2010

Ooh… Pretty pretty!

Quilted Poppy Fields Maryanne

Kate Spade Quilted Poppy Fields Maryanne

Maybe it’s all in the spirit of the Lunar New Year, but I’m so into this bag right now.

I. Must. Resist.

Right now, Pig is tempted.

Inspiration Part I

February 13, 2010

(Inspiration – for behind the camera, not as the subject. :p)

And this is only the tip of the iceberg – check out more awesome photos from the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association. Just the Q4 contest here is so drool-worthy!

One thing I’ve realized – unfortunately – is that even the best photographs are nothing without digital imaging. I so need to get Photoshop for my Mac, but the cost is just absurd!

Gosh, I’m such an armchair photographer. I really ought to bring the D500 500D for a spin in the field, rather than finding more bells and whistles to buy in order to miraculously improve my pictures.

My only hope right now is that gorging myself on a diet of pretty pictures online helps hone my “eye”.

EDIT >> After tonight’s reunion dinner shoot, I’ve proven that my level of photography is barely up to par with my 13-year-old cousin who never picked up an SLR before today. Objectifs had better work wonders.
